Maria-Tina Karamanlakis remembers growing up as a child in a quad-generational home, learning from her mother, grandmother and even her great-grandmother what it meant to be a beautiful woman. Whether sewing a new dress for the start of school, spending time at the hair salon where her grandmother worked, or learning to make Spanakopita or Moussaka in the traditional way, just like it was done on the village back home, life with the Karamanlakis women was always as bright and sparkly as the turquoise waters of the Aegean Sea.
